Civil Rights Research Guide

This guide will provide resources for your research, as well as helpful tutorials on the multimedia tools you will need to conduct your interview.

1. Select a historical figure from our text, Freedom Riders, or someone renowned for his/her involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. (Get your figure approved prior to beginning your research)

2. Research that individual, use your text book, internet, and additional resources to learn about the individual you are interviewing. (Take notes and keep track of your sources)

3. Pretend as though you have the opportunity to interview this person. What types of questions would you ask BASED ON YOUR RESEARCH? Write 10 questions you would ask. (NO broad questions, you would ask the “Average Joe” (NO what’s your favorite color, name, etc.) ASK questions that demonstrate that you did the research to find the answer.
